At least 14 students feared dead in bus crash in Spain

Holiday Brits feared to be among those on board as coach carrying 56 students careers across motorway.

At least 14 people are feared dead after a bus carrying language school students crashed on a motorway in Spain near a known accident blackspot.
The coach was ferrying around 56 students from Valencia to Barcelona when it crashed near Tarragona in Catalonia around dawn on Sunday.

The students were from multiple nationalities. There are unconfirmed reports that Britons may have been among those on board.
The coach is believed to have veered over the motorway's central reservation and hit an oncoming vehicle.
Emergency services have attended the scene and are believed to have rescued the driver, who is understood to be still alive. Others were still being freed from the bus.
Local reports say the stretch of road has seen numerous previous accidents.

Local officials said the bus, which belonged to a firm from the town of Mollet del Valles, just north of Barcelona, was carrying students back from a fireworks festival in Valencia when the accident occurred.
