Janet Jackson Pregnancy Announcement,'I'm Starting A Family'
In a thinly veiled message, Janet Jackson hinted she is pregnant.
Jackson took to Twitter on Wednesday with a message to her fans about putting a halt to her "Unbreakable" world tour (again). Without actually saying she is with child, Janet said that doctors ordered her on bed rest.
"I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family, so I'm going to have to delay the tour."
To be clear, Janet did not officially say she is pregnant with her first child. Her cryptic language could simply be a play on words designed to spark fires in the media, or it could signify any of the following: getting a pet; starting a business or building a brand.
And, consider this: instead of Janet Jackson being pregnant, perhaps she and her husband, Wissam Al Mana, are adopting a child.
Janet turns 50 in May. That said, a pregnancy at that age doesn't come without risk. According to Baby Center, health risks increase for women who conceive after 45.
"Even after you get pregnant, age continues to have an effect. The older you are when you get pregnant, the more likely you are to have a chronic disease, such as high blood pressure or diabetes, that may be undiagnosed and can affect your pregnancy.
You're also at increased risk of developing certain complications during pregnancy – such as gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, placental abruption (in which the placenta prematurely separates from the uterine wall), and placenta previa (in which the placenta lies low in the uterus, partly or completely covering the cervix)."
On the flip side, women who take care of their total selves -- mind, body, and spirit -- turn out better than women who neglect their health. Additionally, expectant moms with access to quality healthcare seldom experience difficulty bringing a child to term.
