The rapper - referencing Bey's new lyric about 'Becky with the good hair' - insisted she wasn't intending any "shade" with her comment, but wanted to explain why she doesn't agree with the slang term.
It has been known to refer to a generic Caucasian girl with long, straight hair - or a typical 'Valley Girl' - and Iggy was quick to tell a fan: "Don't ever call me a Becky."
She added: "Do you know how many time ppl have called me BECKY? it didnt have any kind of positive intention behind it. don't start "
The star went on to explain she agrees that it's wrong to make generalisations about "ANY race" by using a certain nickname.
"Generalizing ANY race by calling them one sterotypical name for said race. i personally dont think is very cool, the end , she said.
"Dont call all asian women 'ming lee' dont call white women 'becky' dont call black women 'sha nay nay'...
"To be called a generalized name that gained populairty as a way to describe oral sex and then generally white women. no thanks.
Bey's latest album Lemonade has prompted a LOT of discussion, and Sorry - which features the reference - sees her urging a cheating lover to call 'Becky with the good hair'.
There has been mounting speculation about the people being referred to in the song, with many fans linking it to Jay Z and his alleged mistress Rachel Roy .
She later responded: "I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn't be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind."
