Dele Alli received the retrospective ban after punching Claudio Yacob in Monday 1-1 draw with West Brom.

He will now miss the remainder of the season, sitting out matches against Chelsea on Monday, Southampton and Newcastle on the final day.

Alli said on Twitter: “Gutted that my season is over. Shouldn’t have reacted like I did.

“Will learn from this and come back stronger.”

Alli has had an outstanding season for Spurs, with 10 goals and nine assists in his debut Premier League campaign.
Last Sunday, Alli was named PFA Young Player of the Year by his fellow professionals.
