ISIS warns UK to expect even "harder and more bitter" terror atrocity than Brussels

Islamic State has vowed 'harder and more bitter' attacks against the UK and its allies following another day of terror in Europe.

The warning comes just hours after 34 people were killed in a series of blasts in the Belgian capital Brussels.

A statement released on the group's official Telegram account said: "We promise dark days to the states who have allied against Islamic State in reply to their aggression against our state.

"And what awaits you will be harder and more bitter, with the grace of Allah."

At least 34 people have been killed and 170 injured after suicide bombers detonated explosives in Brussels Airport and at a Metro station in the city during the morning rush hour.

The full statement said: "We promise to the states that are allied against the Islamic State that they will face dark days in return for their aggression against our state. And what will await you will become harder and more bitter through the grace of Allah.

"In praise of Allah who has made our blows precise and helped us succeed. we demand for him to accept our brothers among the martyrs.

"By the grace of allah and his goodness, a secret cell of soldiers of the caliphate, which Allah gave power and victory, has launched an attack in the direction of Belgium which has not ceased to combat Islam and Muslims.
