Gina Rodriguez CLAIMS The Pressure On Women To Have The Perfect Body Is 'Bullsh*t'!

In a recent interview with People Magazine, the actress spoke out on dealing with body image pressures and how she came to love her physique. It's a confessional all young girls AND women should take note of!.

According to Rodriguez, while she has felt shame for her size before, she is no longer chained to the opinions of others. The beauty attributes her positive attitude to loving parents and a strong support system.
Speaking on her experience in engaging with the "bullshit" of perfection, the Jane The Virgin star explained:

"If you look like a swimsuit model then you're hot and everybody's going to want you and money's going to flow through, and everything's going to be grand and dandy. And that's bullshit. You go to television and film, and, it does add 10 lbs., and, I don't look like a skinny mini, and, the truth is, that's okay too, and that is beautiful also."
Preach, girl! We can't back you enough!

Luckily for G.R., she had a great foundation to arrive at this zen mindset:
"My dad prepared us to be able to look at billboards and magazines and say, 'This is not the only body type that is beautiful'. He would encourage us to find our beauty and love our beauty and accept our beauty as what God gave us. My parents really encouraged us to have confidence in who we are and accept who we are because it is not going to change and we are beautiful."
Aww… what inspiring parents!
